On this site first graders will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative way on various group assignments throughout the school year.  As you read through our project please keep in mind that first graders are new at the writing process, and their work will not be edited in the traditional sense.

Native American Cultural Regions Social Studies Unit

First grade students will recieve a set of clues about a Native American Cultural Region.  Through an activity in class they must find the other members of their region.  All students will use pages on this wiki site to find their cultural region.  Students will use the websites to research the culture's clothing, housing, food source, and crafts.  Each group will have the opportunity to comment about their findings on this site.  Groups will work on a class presentation as their final product.   Students will also have the opportunity to view and discuss  Native American Folktales.
